Are We Unusually 'Lucky'?

We hold a unique place in the universe. No supernova to irradiate our planet. Jupiter protects us from most debris. And our sun will last for billions(-?) more years. In short, we are very lucky. But are we too lucky? In other words, is it no accident.

I propose the theory that the reason why we are so ideally located in the universe, is because we are part of a biological experiment of sorts, with very advanced aliens. And some day they will come back to earth, and maybe join us–or help us. Or at least have more direct contact with us.

It’s just a theory of mine. I have no further proof.

What do the rest of you think:)?
