I smoke outside only. Three a.m. Memorial Day. I don’t drink, am sober as a judge, as they say.
I looked up from the neighborhood lights and saw a soft-white orb, seemingly ephemeral, cloud-like. It went from nickel-sized to golfball-sized and brightened by two times in the space of a second and completely vanished. It did not blink off but faded away.
That’s it. I wish there was more.
