On the morning of March 7, 2016, a big thunderstorm with a lot of clouds and rain moved over West LA at about 6:00am PST. We were gathered in the parking lot at Cheviot Hills Recreation Park off of Motor Ave, to film a shot of a bus for a commercial we were shooting. When the storm was near enough, and the Lightning began, the crew retreated to our vehicles. I was in the empty end of the lot and away from crew and the set (approx. 34.047831, -118.409431) and I wanted to catch some lightning on video.
I didn’t get any lightning but I did get this… Is it a type of ball or globe lightning?? Is that even a thing? Anyway it’s all toward the top above the park field lights and the iPhone camera is looking west. A triangle of lights and satellite lights circling the lower left light.
